On a pleasant sunny, September morning in Middlesbrough 13 Blyth runners gathered for the Tees Pride 10k. This was the 10th race of the grand prix season. Conditions were good with only a slight breeze. Those who had done the race before knew this was a mostly flat one loop course....

Coming back into division 3 this year, following our debut season in the higher division, the expectation and the pressure was high. We were the favourites, targets drawn on the back of our green vests. Now, three matches later….

For the second time in the last three years this race was included in the club Grand Prix and 32 of our runners (23 from the Grand Prix) turned out on what was quite a warm and breezy evening on the Town Moor. The surface underfoot is not always the best on this route ....

NE Youth Development League Meet 4

Churchill Playing Fields have become almost a second home for lots of our young athletes. For many, this is where they train, this is where they often compete. Often in the rain, always with the wind on the top bend, and occasionally in the sun. Therefore, this was a fitting venue for the final fixture of the 2017 NEYDL season.

A strength and conditioning session is held at Bede Academy on a Thursday evening from 7 to 8 pm. There is a small charge of £1 to cover the cost of hiring the hall. All welcome.

Blyth High Jump Academy meet every Thursday at 6pm at Bede Academy. The session is for boys and girls in school years 5 and above looking to develop as athletes with the aim of succeeding in competitions. The cost of sessions is £2

The beginners group, organised by Lesley and Michelle, meet at 7:00 pm every Monday (except Bank holidays) at Blyth Quayside and is open to all abilities.
Whether new to running, returning after a lay off or making a comeback from injury, Blyth beginners group is for you.
