Autumn
Relays - Wed 19th Oct 2011
The twenty fifth running of the
Top House Autumn Relays was held on Wednesday the 19th of October 2011. This year the race was held on an out
and back course from Blyth Quayside due to problems with the normal location in
the Kitty Brewster Industrial Estate.
On a cold, calm night ideal for running it was slightly disappointing to
have only 10 teams competing in the event, with Chris Stone running twice to
ensure his team recorded a time.
Congratulations go to the winning team of Alison Lowes, Terry McCabe and
Sam Dodd. Sam was the fastest on
the night with 12:41 and Heather Christopher was the quickest lady (15:33). Steve Gillespie still continues to keep his
amazing record intact, having competed in all the 25 events. Four members ran for the first time,
giving a total of 270 who have competed over the years.
Thanks to Dave and Iain and all
their helpers for ensuring the event continued as smoothly as ever.
