Important

Blyth Junior Section is currently seeing an increase in numbers. Increased athlete capacity requires additional coaches and volunteer helpers. It is important to limit group sizes to ensure athlete safety and optimise coaching. This is a significant challenge. If you feel you can offer help in any way you can register your interest by contacting Keith Willshire at keithw53@keithw53.plus.com or 01670-362668. There are coaching courses available and the club usually covers the cost of any course.

Cross Country

Once again the cross country season will soon be upon us. The first cross country is Saturday 5th September at Farringdon Sunderland. There are races for all age categories (U11, U13, U15 and U17). The club pays the entry fee but if you do not turn up we will ask you for the money

Blyth are in the North East harrier league and there are several races during the year. Most have an U11’s race as well (Minimum age 8). In the Harrier league, Juniors run in two packs, Slow and Fast. If you haven’t done one, you are  automatically put into Slow pack to start off with and then they can progress to fast pack.

After the Summer holidays we will start cross country training on a Saturday morning

A word for our first time runners, parents & carers, it's a good idea to arrive a good 45 mins early to allow plenty of time to warm up and familiarise yourself with the course. Also, cross country can be a cold, blustery and sometimes wet environment so please come prepared with warm coats, hats, gloves and a good pair of boots that you don't mind getting a bit muddy.

T&F League 2015
