the presentation about Blyth Running Club and Stephanie.
Blyth RC
•Blyth
RC is one of the region's fastest-growing athletics clubs in the North East.
•Despite being close to
more established clubs, their hard-working back-room team have built up a
strong group of young athletes as well as slowly strengthening their senior
groups.
•They are not weary of
travelling out of the region for Northern and National Championships and were
one of only three clubs from the North East to compete in the Northern
Athletics six stage road relay championships.
•To give their athletes
an opportunity to compete across more events, they have joined with Wallsend in
the North of England senior track and field league, and Alnwick Harriers to
compete in the Young Athletes League.
Stephanie Ramsay
•Steph has been an active
member of Blyth RC for several years, and in the past 12 months has competed
for club in track & field as well as cross-country.
•She has started on the
coaching pathway, looking to complete the “Children’s Coach” qualification when
she turns 18, and having acted as a marshall/official at club events is now
taking her officials qualification as well.
•Steph acts as Team
Manager for the club’s Young Athlete’s Team, compiles results at club events,
plans and delivers the junior sprinting sessions working with a Level 2 coach,
and does it all with a smile on her face.
•She has grown in
confidence over the years and is now a valuable member of BRC. In 2009 she was
selected to attend the"Young Leaders Camp" at Rugby School and has
also started "Step Into Sport" with BRC as her placement already
achieving a silver award and is well on her way to the gold award.

friendliness have already been recognised by BRC when she was voted Junior
personality of the club by her peers, and fully deserves her award this
evening.
