Start Fitness Harrier League 2010/11 Race 1 – Cramlington

[23-Oct-2010]  Saturday the 23rd of October saw Blyth Running Club host the first Start Fitness Harrier League meeting of the 2010/2011 season at East Cramlington Nature Reserve.  A huge turnout of almost 700 runners took part in the nine race programme which included a combined U11 boys/girls race for the first time.  The testing course had been made even tougher by the heavy overnight rain and frequent heavy showers throughout the morning.

Over 300 runners set off in the senior men's race, with Robbie Barkley having an excellent run for Blyth finishing in 14th place with a time of 38:09 for the 9.5k course, which was won by Sunderland Harriers Mark Hood.  Also good to see was Simon Lemin, running his first cross-country and seeming to thoroughly enjoy it.
