Harrier League Race 5 – Blaydon

[12th-Mar-2011]  The 5th Start Fitness NE Harrier League X-C of the season was held at Blaydon on Saturday 12th March.  Although the senior men had a full team out for this race things are still looking bleak in the league, with one race left (at Prudhoe), again before a Grand Prix event, we are next to bottom of league 2 with 54 points.  The two teams above us, Saltwell and Claremont have 45 and 43 points respectively, and with two teams being relegated we need a good showing at Prudhoe and also Claremont or Saltwell to have an incomplete team.

The U17 men's team finished 4th on the day and now lie second overall on 23 points, 7 points behind current leaders Gateshead.  The two Josephs finished 8th and 10th in the U15 boys race and both move to the fast pack.

Only three females ran for Blyth at Blaydon, Susanne had a great run in the senior women's race, finishing 9th overall and is now in the medium pack for the next race.

Charlotte Ramsey also had a great run in the U15 girls event, finishing 2nd and moves up to the fast pack.
