Whoever rearranged the date for this race must have
also spoken with the weather gods, as the 53 runners had perfect conditions for
this, the 5th race of the season's Winter Series, a fact borne out by no less
than 30 season's best times. It is also
worth noting that only one minute separated the runners finishing in 5th and
43rd places, a worthy effort by the handicapper.
First back was Rachel Falloon,
followed by Louise Rawlinson (running as a guest so not counting in the
competition), 2nd and 3rd places therefore went to Charlie Hedley and Charlotte
Ramsey. Charlie ran a minute quicker
than her 3rd place finish last time out and Charlotte over a minute quicker
than her previous best.
The top of the individual competition has changed
again, with Ken Turnbull on 61 points retaking first spot from Dave Roberts,
who is 5 points behind in 2nd, followed by Terry McCabe, 19 points further back
in 3rd.
After finishing as first team in the last race,
"Charlie And The Giraffe" had to be satisfied with joint first this
time round with "The Broons". The team competition is now becoming closer,
with "Colin's Crew" still top on 375 points, ahead of "R n
R" on 413 and "The Broons" on 469.
Robbie Barkley was fastest on the night with a time
of 13:46 and Heather Christopher was again fastest lady in 16:42. Once again many thanks to Keith, Dave, The
Handicapper (Stig) and all the helpers on the night.
