A lower
than normal turnout of 50 runners for the fourth race of the Winter
Series. First
back was Julie Lemin, improving by over a minute
from her previous best in this series so far.
Second place went to Heather Barrass,
improving her season's best by over 30 seconds, and rounding out an all
female top three was Charlie Hedley, just 2 seconds behind Heather but yet
another improving their time, this time by 20 seconds. With
the previous leaders in the team competition ("Hot Tottie")
having a bad night, "Lydia's Lads" made the most of their
opportunity by winning on the night and closing the gap to "Hot Tottie" to just 6 points. "French and Saunterers" and "MPFree
Runners" were second and third respectively. Jake
Jansen was again the fastest finisher with 13:51, but this time sharing the
honour with new member Lee Cuthbertson, another new
member Judith Nutt was fastest female with 15:20, which is also a new female
vets record. With another new member,
Joe Race recording 14:15 we could soon have 3 running under 14 minutes, the
first time this would have happened for a number of years. 23 runners ran season's bests. Many thanks to the two Daves, The
Handicapper (Stig) and all the helpers on the night. |
